I have officially designed my first show, what a growing experience! The Foreigner by Larry Shue, is a story of growth and exploration of self. It is a play that speaks on the interconnectedness of humans, with our ability to impact each other in such profound ways. The seemingly broken characters, use each other as tools to piece themselves together. Their interactions with each other serve as reflections of themselves. My focus for designing this set was to speak to the idea of these people finding these lost pieces and becoming whole.

Assistant designing the Assassins production started off with extensive research. We took a day trip to the Library of Congress sorting through historical newspapers, photographs, court documents, and anything relevant to the presidential assassinations. This research was used for the wall layout, which each wall being dedicated to a president. Aside from research, my time as assistant designer was spent supervising progress of the scenic painting and set production, as well as props. To finish off the set, I had the responsibility of set dressing. For a non traditional set my focus for set dressing relied was directed more toward symbolism.
